An excellent creative retelling

This book sucked me in from the first pages, so much so that I read it all in one sitting! (Which made the cliffhanger that much more shocking) I loved that the story was both familiar and captivating at the same time. I found the emotional struggles of the characters to be very relatable, communication is HARD sometimes more so with the people we love. I felt the longing, confusion, and trepidation in both Locklyn and Darin. I’m excited to see the characters develop through the rest of the series.

Exciting and unique spin on a mermaid story

I was very immersed in this book almost immediately. I love fairytales and mermaids and magic and this book gave me all those things. I could imagine the settings and characters so vividly, it felt like I was actually there. I haven’t picked up a book to read of my own free will in a very long time, yet this one stood out to me and after having finished the last page, I am eager to get into reading again. And my goodness after that ending…I am greatly anticipating the second book!
